There staggered 8.5J up front ET35 with a 205/40/18, and the rears are 9.5J, Et40 and a 215/40/18. Need to source another 205/40/18 falken 452 as its got a budget on one, and the other 3 are 452's but its harder than i thought. Hoping there wont be to many issues with fitment, the haldex and fitting over my new brakes!  :rolleye: :rolleye: Al maybe sell you them in a few weeks!  :signLOL:

have you had to do any arch work mate?
cant believe the yanks have so many sets on theirs and dont seem to have that much agg...or are they keeping the amount of work needed to get fitment a bit quiet??

am sooo jealous lol... but keep thinking i might need coils if i,m gonna put these on-they def look better when its dropped low!
like dis...

Those all look the business, but even with coils you will struggle to get the same look as the pics.
Although have spoken to one guy on ED38 who can get some German H&R ultra lows or something that go as low as air, though they are about £1300,then a couple hundred to fit, and get  chassis notch etc. and you have to wind them right down which just isn't practical. FK and AP are some of the lowest ones you can get that I know of,without cutting springs, removing helpers, and all that dodgy stuff!

Coils will get you pretty low and still retain a level of comfort depending on what brand you go for.
Keep trying with those reps, though if they fall through try http://www.performancealloys.com/wheel-details.aspx?ID=1665 for a new set, stick your old tyres on and you are away!

You can get reps that are Et44 and there like 600 for the set mate which isnt bad. The first pic you posted on the mk4 R32 ( deles) are the ones that i have sitting, bought them off him last week. Ive not done any arch work, not tried yet. Cars still sitting standard but i have brakes, coils, the wheels and loads more bits to get on once the weathers a bit better. Will let you know when i get them on though mate.

as much as i want to be in a hurry i have plenty to do to the car before i get the rims-and they will only be sunday best rims anyways.so as much as i am very impatient, lack of funds will prevail and force me to wait,...unless the right ones come up at the right time and ill postpone something else.
we all know how that goes i,m sure! :ashamed:
hurry up the dry weather so i can see what your doing with yours... i wont be far behind u unless a chance of luck befalls me!!
i really should stay off here and ill be sane again...and not so skint.
good luck

So, whats the news?!

I am shopping backwards and am currently looking for some rims for the mk5 Golf I haven't even bought yet.

I've just seen a set of Merc staggered fit.
18" all round.
8.5 fronts on ET35,
9.5 rears on ET40.

Can I get these to fit, what tyres should I run,
and will I need to get spacers.

I plan to buy some Gaz Gold Coilovers, it won't be decked as its the wife's car.
Any news, please.............?!

Alphards apparently are quite easy to fit, bit of arch rolling on the front, camber on the back to tuck the tyre in, should be quite easy I reckon with the right tyres,

if your not going to lower it lots a 9.5 may look naff, you need it low to pull the look off in my opinion

Yeah, well.
forget that.

I managed to get a set of Lexus SC 430 rims for £250 delivered,
I'll split them,
get the outers powder coated and hand polish the centres,
much cheaper than what I was after.....

just need to borrow a girl from works car to test fit before I send them off for powder.......

Theres a load of guys over here running alphards - but all are reps!!! I myself have porsche 996 GT3 rims on mine running et35 all round, although i have 7.5x18 fronts and 10x18 rears. Need to run with camber in the rear on a stretched tyre, and may even contemplate stretch on the fron t depending how low i go!! But wouldnt recommend it for anything you drive quite hard as it would more than likely destroy the arch!!! LOL  :sad1:

Once i get my car finished (in prep for a show in Limerick) then i'll post up a few pics of it!! I had been told by numerous peopleon different forums that they would never fit without mega arch work, but they seem to fit on mine reasonably easy!!!
