Massive thanks to Nick & the R-Tech Team. I'll do a proper write up once I know what I'm going to say. I'll post the dyno graphs as well once I've got them. Engine now freely revs to 7000rpm & the changes are faster & smoother.

So far I'm very pleased, there was even an increase in torque  :driver:

Thankfully they also removed my Forge Spacer  :notworthy: which would've been causing a 20bhp loss in power.

You said the spacer would have caused 20bhp loss did they prove that with a dyno run or just told you?

That figure was from another golf, not my actual car. It was proven on the dyno though. I'll sort out a review as soon as I've had a proper go with it & worked out the pros & cons  :happy2:

.
If we are talking about the Forge Spacer on the turbo line it never made sense. It's just a noise maker and if it actually dumps air instead of recirculating it as the 2.0T FSI is designed to do, then it's counter productive.

In this case, I think that Forge are guilty of bringing something to market which is merely pandering to the boy-racers by providing a sound at the expense of performance. I'm not anti-Forge btw - I run a Forge Twintake and am very happy with it indeed.

+1

"Sir do you want performance and power or phisssshhhh every time you change gear and sound like a chav"

Same with the 1.8T Forge split-R I refuse to sell then and wont tune cars with them on.

DSG remap review:

Not gonna bother waffling on for ages so here are the main points from the last few weeks:

Positive
Smooth, faster changes
Increase in torque
S won't upshift on its own
Louder & more frequent DSG "farts"
Manual mode won't upshift or downshift if you floor the accelerator.

Negative
S is very very eager to drop down
D holds 1st a bit too long at low speeds in traffic
D won't change to 6th till about 50mph or 5th till about 40mph

Car is now running 248bhp & 400Nm of torque iirc (awaiting graphs from dyno...come on Nick!)

^ Is that one of VC's? It's different from mine - I don't have the outer cog ring.

Glowing in the dark is just a bit too much for me!

I forgot to say how great your Steel Grey colour looks when it's clean  :notworthy:

Cheers Robin, i try to keep it fairly clean when possible  :happy2: They only glow a bit unless you charge them up with a big torch so they're not too obvious.
