Panasonic 3D TV

Hi Guys in the process of getting a 3D TV and the Panasonic 50" TV is what i think im after, read a lot of good reviews, was just wondering if anybody on here actually owns it and what they think of it?

Good luck - by all reports, holographic TV will be here next year........goodbye 3d.......

However, if you're after 3d, the Panny is one of the best. I came very close to getting one. But I'm now waiting.

As said above, but, if 3d is important to you the panny is a brilliant TV and good for the price, but be prepared to lose a lot of money on it next year !


I also have a Samsung 9 series which is truly brilliant and the picture clarity is defo better than the panny, but you cant beat Blacks on plasma's

Look at currys comet etc they are knocking literally £100's off em cause people ain't jumping on the 3D bandwagon and the tech is not brill yet either.... Samsung edge lit led lcd's-- Lg full lit led or-- if you can still find a pioneer plasma (hard) will wipe the floor with 3D think VHS v bettamax

Having worked for Currys/PC World I can definately agree panasonic have it sorted when it comes to 3D. You pay a little more for it, but its worth the extra

Agree with britishlion - Series 9 are fantastic for image quality, but you cannot beat a plasma for depth of black and the colour range it can produce.

Buy the panasonic vt20 from currys for £1999

They will the price match any other retailer and give you 10% of the difference.

Richer sounds sell it at £1499 so you get £500 back plus an extra £50, just make sure the currys store is within 30 miles of the richer sounds store and they have them in stock at RS.

The vt20 is a great tv. SD material is good on most channels, HD is very good, bluray is stunning. Not the slimmest or best looking TV but panasonic always put function over form, I bought the new LG led set recently, contrast ratio for an lcd based tv was great, but motion handling was jerky and overall it was awfull compared to the vt20.

I also tested a high end samsung LED recently, black levels lacked a lot and clouding in dark scenes ruined viewing films such as avatar and dark knight etc.... For everyday tv it wad brilliant, vivid and bright picture, good motion handling etc.... Would have one over most sets, but Im into films too much and the poor black levels and clouding puts me off.

Agree with pdt here, but, the blacks on 6 7 8 series Samsung weren't great but the 9 is very very good, depends what your budget is mate

Agree with PDT about Samsung clouding but mess with the backlight settings and picture options/100hz motion plus settings and it makes it miles better adjust to movie mode and hey presto one superb ue46b7020 Samsung tv ... It's like anything - you have to fiddle with it to gain extra pleasure

We have a 7020 in the office but I don't think much to it, what settings have you got yours on ?

I have a Pioneer Plasma now and have been very pleased with it, But wanting to go 3D so i think il go for the Panasonic VT20, best price local to me is £1699 but when i mentioned a cash deal he said to pop in for a demo, will defo look into the curry's price promise. Nearest Richer sounds is in Maidstone Kent so will have to see if there is a Curry's store within 30 miles.

My first tv was the same £3500 !

Sold it for £200 last year on the bay !

I would love to buy a pioneer kuro plasma tv two bad they are no longer avalible, any guy i speak 2 about tvs they always say the pioneer is still till this day one of the best around. i would buy one tomorrow if could
