Wanting to fit MK6 steering wheel
« on: February 17, 2011, 12:44:49 pm »
Hi all.
Looking to upgrade to a mk6 mltifunction wheel. I  currently have a 2005 GTI with midline.
I want to get my cruise control to work.   I've been told that the steering wheel needs a module to get it to work,
Does anyone have a list of what needs doing to get the steering wheel to work please and also a rough cost.

Ooh! forgot to mention in my PM Al, you will also need a Mk 6 cruise stalk, i have not got round to replacing mine yet, but you can offset the cost by selling the mK5 one.  :happy2:

In that case I have a spare cruise control stalk, a cruise wire, and a MK5 module that is not needed! Oh well, off to the for sale section for all of those then

That would be great Steve, do you have any idea what else I would need then, is it just the wheel, airbag and cruise stalk.

Hi Derek.
£90 for all 3 posted. :happy2:
Don't think you need anything else to get it to work other than vag-com/VCDs
Though check the part numbers that I have put up in the original sale thread and check with VW or people here.  :innocent: :innocent:

Cool beans dude, think they are pretty cheap, PM me a price for the module and take it from there.
Does anyone have a part number the c ring, or the cost of one?  :happy2:

If only it was that easy!
What is the MK 5 module you mention? Presume you mean the controller?

For reference for others aswell as Al when I fitted my MK6 MFSW I used the following

Steering controller - 1K0-953-549-CH

Cruise stalk - 1K0-953-513 G

Slip ring - 1K0-959-653-C  (which was already in the car from stock)
