Moving to Spain anyone got any advice
« on: February 18, 2011, 03:45:35 pm »
Hello Guys

The Mrs, Me and my son are looking to move to Spain for about 6months and were looking at the Area's around Malaga.

I work offshore in the north sea so Malaga airport is nice and easy to get to from Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Has anyone done the same thing, do you have any advice and where is the best to look at renting a place.

My son is only 2 and a half so we don't need to worry too much about a school but play groups and stuff would be nice.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Rich

learn spanish.

being serious too  :happy2: you'll get more respect from the locals putting a lingual effort in and will also help you source a nursery for your boy

Thanks I have no problem with speaking Spanish it's just the understanding part as they speak so fast.

I will have the Rosetta stone software on every night from now on!

Uncle did the same thing about 8 years ago, moved to La Linea. He also works offshore and drives to Malage (1.5HR) to get to Aberdeen.

As said, best advice is to learn the lingo, makes everything so much easier..

Good luck mate  :happy2:

Cheers guys.

Wanted to find out website or property agents to look at regarding renting.  Also do you have council tax and things to pay?
