I got this beauty when my car got a service and "product enhancement"...

Went from an R32 to a 1.2

Even came with added bird crap, cracked wing mirror and scrapped front left wheel arch...

No wonder I got the work done so cheap

and i was offered the Golf R  :P

took my car in for the recall today. Turns out it didn't require new coils. I was quite surprised as mine's an '05.
Asked if they could fit my revison D DV - said they were too busy! They did wash my car tho - swirls galore now! Gotta love the dealers!

They washed mine last Friday (MOT & Recall), I didn't mind as I haven't given it a makeover yet. It was sunny that evening and I couldn't believe how many swirls there were on there, do they wash cars with wire wool! :surprised:

Took the car out for a run today, first time with the new coil packs and the remap back on. Gotta say, might be my imagination, but it feels better, definitely smoother and fuel economy is much improved as well. Mind you, my car has been playing up for a while (very reluctant warm starting, intermittent exhaust warning light etc)...

Funny you say that, as I noticed that as well but I put it down to the warmer weather.

Oh yeah, and the dealer washed it... With a bucket of sand apparently.

Monza II refurb and some expert detailing both desperately required this summer.

yeah, I got over 25mpg just driving around town last night - That NEVER happens, normally I get around the 19/20mpg mark on urban cycle, rising up to 30mpg on the motorway. Wonder if I'll see additional improvement on my next long journey?

I've noticed this aswell. Normally Id get around 23 but same route and same driving style etc getting about 26/27... every little helps!

I was going downhill in 5 not accelerating and it was showing a crazy 45.1 mpg... I wish it was!!!

Finally got a call back from Motorline VW in Tunbridge Wells after two days of trying and spoke to a lovely lady called Kelly who confirmed that my car is affected by the "recall" and she said that I had done my homework on it when I quoted the "recall" reference

I have a 56 plate (registered Feb 2007) Edition 30 and I hve been booked in for a half day session on the 29th of March  :jumpmove:

Had my car in for a service today, mine's a 2005 car. The service manager mentioned the recall before the service but upon collecting the car he said that my car was not affected by the recall.

Had my coils replaced on my edition 30 yesterday which is an 07 registered in May. Definitely feels smoother took the car for an 80 mile drive straight after and returned 37.4 mpg for the journey which was good considering it was a spirited drive round some of my favourite biker roads (twistes).

I declined the free wash of the car, service woman asked if i was sure, lol yup i definitely was  :fighting:

Rang up Parkway (Derby) last week and got it in today.
No problem 3 off coil packs replaced free of charge.
Had to quickly put it back in the workshop as they had left the wires hanging out of the plastic cover to pack 1.
Main dealers aye I have no faith!
They left cylinder 2 as I had one go last year and replaced it myself.
Whats actually the problem with the packs's?
Anybody know?

Im going in for a wait session at 8 saturday morning at Martins Camberley, have some new plugs to put in and they want £40 which is half hours labor charge to unscrew 4 plugs and screw 4 new ones in   At least I figure if im waiting I can at least stop them from washing it, although to be fair to them last service they respected my wishes and left it un-washed I clearly wasnt specific enough though as they left some sticky fluid they spilt down the front on this I would have let them wash off!
