Car Booked in next Wednesday 2nd March  :pomppomp:

Only hope now a) they dont wash it, b) they dont wrag it, c) dont use it as an excuse to screw money out of me.

They're not likely to wash it are they  :surprised: :surprised:

I'm a 3rd the way through correcting my paintwork....if they wash it I might end up doing time.

Booked for Wednesday at Citygate Ruislip...nice.

That is my closest dealer so will need to see if mine needs them changed and if I can get mine booked in as well.

Was it hassle free to book in?

Lucky git! How long you got it for? I'd love one but can't justify the price (yet!) especially trying to convince the missus! It's not worth it!

....What dealers like to do is have your car for all of a half-day period so they have flexibility in slotting you into the workshop. Sometimes other jobs take longer due to additional problems found etc. I think this is better than promising you it will be ready an hour later and then it's not because of someone else's car.

Was in TPS earlier. Doing the maths on the cost of this. Possibly 71000 affected cars, having 4 faulty coilpacks at cost price of around £26 a piece.

Worst case scenario for them, that works out to about £7,384,000....this is gonna be a costly hit to VW

Returned from the dealers from having a service today, (4th year service, DSG oil change, brake fluid change, MOT. On a plus point at least they price matched, in the end).

According to VW (after another dealer told me my car wasn't included), my car is included in the recall, so the car will be booked in for the work when the coil packs have arrived in stock.

Glad I read this on the forum, cheers guys. :happy2:

£100 a car is peanuts to VW, in any case if the coils are faulty I imagine they will be reclaiming a lot of that from the coil manufacturer - Bosch?

Bosch, Valeo, NGK generally

And yes it it peanuts. If VOSA got involved it'd cost a hell of a lot more
