I've just had my MOT done at the dealers today as well and they replaced all 4 coilpacks too!
I was told when I booked my MOT that it was due some warranty work due to a product recall.
Actual invoice says:
Carry our Recall 28F5-W-Ignition Coil.
Parts fitted IGNIT.COIL
STICKER?

Mines a March 2007 Ed30.

Interesting... I shall have to call my dealer as mine is the same car as yours

VCDS Scanning/Coding, RNS and MDI retrofits, and specialist mechanics services with VAGtek available - Just PM me for details.

I bet theyll be stingy and say 'well unless we service it, we wont be able to do the recall' or some utter bollocks like they normally spew when it comes to giving things away for nothing. :signLOL:

To be honest mate I don't think they will. I think they're genuinely admitting that this aspect is not up to scratch. I suppose there's only one way to find out!

.
Surely the recall isn't dependent on having a service session?

Pretty much yes Robin.

It isn't a recall and therefore doesn't require them to notify owners therefore the only natural means of notification is when the vehicle attends the workshop and the system is checked for recalls and campaigns.
