Good News,
The recall was released on friday, The girl could not give me dates of cars recalled but it is worth a ring to find out as mine is now booked in for 4 brand new coilpacks. :-)

I feel a phone call coming on at lunch. Did you just say you think the car might be affected by a recall on coilpacks?

Apparently it was only released to VW friday so may take a while to curculate, It is a official VW recall because it had a recall ref code when they rang me back.

Yes they quoted me a ref code aswell (can't remember what it was though). I think they're calling it a 'product enhancement' so as to not draw too much attention to the issue! I think essentially however, it is a recall.

Perfect, anything to pin it down will help those of us with less than helpful dealers.  I'll wait and get the code then give them a call. Can someone please post up when they have it?  :popcornsoda:

OK so just rang VW Stockport

Recall on Friday for Coil pack "Check"

Only some cars are affected, but it is for the coil packs to be checked ! and replaced if necessary ! (whatever that means)

She would not give me the code and assured me it was not a product recall, just a check of the coil packs that are in there !

Another testament as to why forums are so good !  :congrats: :congrats:
