Acronyms
« on: February 20, 2011, 07:59:35 am »
It's a bit late in the day I know because I've been watching this site for a year or two now but at last I think the time has come to have explained  to me (like I'm a five year old) the meaning of the many Acronyms used on this (and many other) sites.

I know "MATE" -everyone uses that !  But :  "LOL" -lots of love ?  "PM'D" - copy sent to David Cameron ?

They go on and on and I haven't got a clue so I feel that I'm missing out on something that could be  really important.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am 65 lads (and lasses) so take it nice and slowly !!

Thanks ,

Paul.

2007,  Silver, 5 door Ed 30 DSG  (I know what that means too!)  9,500 miles -BEAUTIFUL !  Fitted with  BBS VZ's (Perfect Pescaros in boxes in garage) and one in the boot with boot conversion. Oh, and Koni FSD's -BRILLIANT- what a difference they make to the car.  Front mats never used. Probably, the nicest car I've ever owned.

Am getting the idea now.       A bit like  "SWALK" and "BURMA" aren't they ?          Infact  some  of  them  are  having  me  "LOL" and "ROFL" and "LMAO".     Even "PMSL"  !!

The message boards will be a lot more interesting now.

Thanks everyone .

Paul.

....At last! Someone who is older than me! I'm 63.

Don't expect any mercy here just because of your age! I know from long experience.

Does this mean we need a geriatrics section?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Geriatrics section ?  Mmmmmm    ..... Yes ...good.   But ,  only on the condition that my WIFE - the one in the nurses uniform -   can have her own section too  !!

Seriously though.  Don't  YYW   (you young whippersnappers) start ganging up on the golden oldies on this site.  (There's probably an EU law against it anyway ! )

We could also maybe have a bragging rights contest for cars that we have owned in our mobile years compared to the ones owned by the YYW's in their now infantile youth.

Just a suggestion.....
