I trully believe that dealers use MOT's as an excuse to cherry pick work from desperate car owners, you need the MOT and often a small repair bill will be tollorated. Having bad experiences myself I now only use the dealer for the first MOT of a cars life, whilst under warranty and let em fix it for free if it fails. After that I know the integrity of my car pretty well as its maintained and serviced regardless of cost, more so due to track days and ring trips etc so I use a good but not nazi style MOT station for my tests. Had one done the other day and it was a very thorough examination but passed ............. no thanks to VW
