Any 'siren' noises from the turbo?
What do siren noises indicate? I hear these sometimes when cornering. I thought it may be bearing related?

Oh the joy of mobile remaps with no real testing or tuning, your in the same position as many of our customers that have had what we call a car boot sale special in the trade, paid for a product and may need to spend more to get it right.

Where are you based? I will probably have a contact that can read the map off and send it to me, I will gladly look at it for you and see if there are any obvious mistakes or maps that are causing the issue.

P.s the siren noises indicate worn bearings, usually more noticable at low RPM and as the engine is coming back to idle.

Yes please that would be great. I would rather check the map first before i refurb the turbo.
Im from leeds in yorkshire. not really any strong sounds except at idle when i rev abit i can hear abit of an faint owl howling.

'Owl howling' is the bearings, but shouldnt cause a limp mode situation unless its really severe.


We dont have anyone in Leeds area, but we are a out 80mins from you so if you fancy a free check of the map, just ask.

Just taken it out now im getting the same readings as the first post, no limp mode though.
It still pulls really fast.
btw the only other error apart from overboost is Egr insufficient flow. I removed it and cleaned egr and cleared. Still same error
Could that be related and they both use a vacuum system and both lead to the same vacuum box

The requested boost looks safe IMHO, its the actual boost that high which is not going to be realted to the map as the ecu will go closed loop and try to control the boost to the requested amount.  If the ecu cannot control the boost and sees more than 400mb for around 10 seconds it will jump in to limp mode via fuel IQ cut.  In most cases to induce 400mb for more than 10seconds you will need to be doing around 60-80mph under full load in 4th-5th ot 6th gear.

Common issues that cause this kind of limp mode would be a sticky VNT, faulty map sensor and/or faulty vacume control box.

If the map was requesting too much boost it would not go into limp mode as the boost would still be within the 400mb factor.

A good high load logging sesion is what is needed, to log the boost v boost control duty cycle.

Thanks nick. So its definately not the remap?   i thought so due the actual boost being more than the requested.
If not ill book it in to you guys for a refurb!

OMG Really ANNOYED
Just got a new genuine turbo bolted on and all the whistling has gpne BUT its still got actual boost higher at peak.
It must be the map? please help guys!!???

I cant beleive its still doing it with a brand new genuine turbo. All the whining has gone now. Im thinking it must be A) map B) Vacuum pipe C) n75 control solonoid

If the turbo was faulty surely it would under boost not over boost? Why don't you get the people back who done the map to read it, but like someone else said if it was the map surely the ecu would not put it into limp mode as it would think the boost I'd ok?
