Armrest options
« on: January 26, 2009, 01:51:06 pm »
I'm after getting an armrest to retro fit in the GT, got a price from the stealers for around the £200 mark which I'm thinking isn't too bad.

However, what're the options for what's inside them?  I know you can have cd changers or ipods in them, can you also just have one as an empty box so to speak as well?

I already have the ipod cable installed running into the front of the car - so if I got an ipod armrest, can I swap this?  Are there different part numbers?

Sorry if I'm sounding a numpty, but I wanna get it right!   :ashamed:  need to get on and buy one to give my bf something else to do whilst on leave  :happy2:

Cheers for any help!

From memory there are two options for the main piece around the armrest, either the one with (almost) DIN size slot for CD Changer/iPod adapter or the cubby hole type.

If you already have a cable type iPod adapter fitted I would go for the cubby hole type armrest and make a small hole for the cable, the other type requires the VW iPod adapter DIN size holder to work properly.

HTH  :happy2:

ok cheers Steve!   I'll get back onto the stealers me thinks and order myself one - they said it comes in kit form now rather than individual parts so hopefully it'll do the job  :happy2:
