Anyone shipped a car abroad?
« on: February 23, 2011, 04:09:54 pm »
Hi Guys

I'm looking to find out how to get a car from the UK to Spain.  Anyone done this and if so how much and who with.

I'm in Aberdeen but can drop the car off anywhere in the UK and it's going to Malaga.  I thought there might be some soft of ferry service I could get but I can find anything.

Anyone got any info that would be great.

if you pay for the petrol/travel expenses and flight home then I'll drive it down for you, quite fancy a road trip  :drinking:

i'm driving down to spain in april

to get it transported will cost a fair whack, but if you ferry it to the Pyrenees then drive it down yourself the cost will be minimal in comparison

Doesnt Craigy on here do this sort of thing (think its normally with race cars) so probably not cheap but he might be the man in the know!  Or drive it down, ferry to santander or bilbao and drive on from there!

I'd take it with you mate, shame to have to get rid of such a nice car!

I must have done 10K miles all over Europe in RHD cars and never had a problem other than at car park barriers  :signLOL:

Someone told the Mrs there is a road from malaga to marballa which has a slip raod to get on and if you drive a RHD car you will die trying to get on it as the locals are muy loco!

Just get one of those extra huge caravan towing mirrors and tell the Mrs to floor it!  :driver:
