Run standard plugs iirc the Bosch ll plugs are one grade cooler than they used to be.

No expert on this subject, but there have been many threads asking similar, and quite a few have had problems when upgrading. The general concensus has been that the standard ones work perfectly, just change them every 20k on a tuned car.  :happy2:

.
I've recently had new oem plugs in my K03 GTI and they are NGK PFR7S8EG Part# 06H 905 601 A.

Perhaps the plugs are different for K03 and K04 cars but I haven't heard this is so before. I'm going to check this again tomorrow at my VW dealer's.

The plugs i listed are the latest ones. I got them from TPS about 3-4 weeks ago. They are the same for all 2.0 TFSi engines.

The OEM ones are Bosch not NGK and are longlife plugs

....JKM tell me that the latest correct spark plugs for K03 AXX are Laser Platinum (Single) electrode and heat grade 7, NGK supplied OEM by Volkswagen. Mine were installed only a couple of weeks ago.

I know you're not mental, Carl

I totally believe your integrity but I can take a pic of my silver Volkswagen plug box and post it too. Our information seems conflicting which is why I'll ask my VW dealer Parts Manager tomorrow when I'm seeing him anyway. Who are TPS?

My guess is that 2 companies make viable plugs for the VW group.

Just to add to that I bought a new set of longlife sparks for my ED30 from TPS the other week. Same part number, and they are NGK Laser Platinum plugs underneath

TPS are VWs outlet to trade for all five brands

VCDS Scanning/Coding, RNS and MDI retrofits, and specialist mechanics services with VAGtek available - Just PM me for details.

....My guess too  :happy2:

I wonder if Carl's Bosch plugs are also heat grade 7 like the NGK Laser Platinums.
