Is it true that the VW recommended change time for plugs is 60K of 6 years?  :confused: Seems a long time to me!

According to the book, for the 2.0TFSI yes

Ive always done it at 40k though personally!

....Yep. I do mine every 20k miles (with every alternate oil service @ 10k) as recommended by JKM and VWR for a remapped car.

My guess is that 2 companies make viable plugs for the VW group.  :wink:


....You're absolutely right, Hedge. I checked with my VW dealer's Parts Manager yesterday and both Bosch and NGK's are listed on their system as OEM. I saw it on his screen with my own eyes. My dealer prefers the Bosch products.

I have NGK IRIDIUM IX spark plugs - BKR8EIX fitted on my car for a few hundred kms. It seems to work well.
