Just gone Milltek...
« on: February 24, 2011, 05:55:56 pm »
As the post states, I have just upgraded to a non res catback Milltek, and am loving the difference in noise to stock. Not too loud, but makes the car sound how it should when it came out of the factory. I keep on making excuses to go out for a spin!

Does anyone know whether the Milltek weighs more or less than a standard cat back?

Thanks
Andrew

Are Milltek stainless steel and oem mild steel?

May not apply to the VW O.E systems but most original systems are now aluminiumised steel.

I think my wife would divorce me if she caught me filming a revving exhaust  :signLOL:

I actually think that the stock exhaust is slightly louder at tickover - with the Milltek it is all about the soundtrack through the rev range when moving.

In terms of fitting the cat back presumably its just a case of undoing the clamp after the cat and bolting the new Milltek on?

Cheers Gene. I was looking under the car today but could not see the clamp so thought I would ask. I will have a better look when its on axle stands :happy2:
