330d e92. Shocked myself and him!

Someone i know has a e92 bmw and he wouldnt tell me what engine it had nor the power or anything and he had no idea i was running stage 2+. so yesterday leaving the gym there is some dual carridgeway near by and we were both going the same way so had a little fun up to the speek limit of course  :rolleye:. Anyway i stayed with him all the way and started to pull along side him as he was infront. To say he wasnt happy was an understatement. Now he has told me its a 330d with a remap so pushing 305bhp. guess the extra wait he's pullign didnt help him. proper quick car though and nothing in it.

305hp from a map? More like 280 in reality, even stage 2 330d engines struggle to get past the 300hp mark.

But extremely capable engines with loads of torque!

245BHP STOCK , Dont know what stage 2 is but most guys use a evolve map  .I will go over on to e90 forum and ask

Depends on the age, as they only used to be around 230PS. Those mapped to 275-280.

The 245 and 231hp engines are the same, software is different though but they both respond the same to a map,

Speaking of Evolve, we tested a 530d estate that had one of their maps, made 287hp and Over 450ft/lb of torque, went really really well.

Only I think it is 58 plate 330d's have the 245bhp engine .... I don't think they remap beyond 280 ish ...but may be wrong.

I tried a standard 59 plate 330d and want one ... 6 secs to 60 and 15 to 100 as standard - and it felt it.  Very nice :)  

It actually felt quicker than a 335d because of the power delivery - but over 60mph the 335d is rather different  :evilgrin:

The fact a diesel goes so quickly shows how far they have come on - this engine even growls !!  The sound really surprised me when I drove it.  The new 330d engine sounds far better than the 335d.

Can't believe I am saying how good diesels are though  :scared:

Ive owned both the 330d and 335d which I still have. The power delivery is more aggressive in the 330d but the 335 is deceptively fast as its so refined and smooth, a definite licence loser!

OK ,The boys on E90 post said 305bhp and 500lb torque....

One guy from Manchester ant397 has a proper beast with MT but its been heavily modded no figures though
