just a thought, all the cars that claim to have run accurately, were new cars??

Would having lower tread on the front wheels cause differences in RR readings??

If all models of cars were strapped down the same, yet the newer cars ran nearer to their Pre claimed bhp..

Anyone with a a mk5 GTi running new tyres and what bhp did you get yesterday? Maybe tyres not gripping aswell.

I know Jim commented on my vreddestein tyres not getting enough heat in them causing issues on my 1st few runs before.

His issue was down to dsg, the power was similar before and after...

Ahh, ok! Was just hypothesising why the discrepencies may have occured.
Without traction power is nothing!

As long as there was no wheel slippage on the dyno then variation in thread depth would make no difference.

but would tyres not being up to temperature cause an issue Bacillus?

If the tyres weren't up to temp then they will have a slightly lower pressure. This should only have a minor effect when the dyno is trying to calculate the coast down losses to convert wheel hp to crank hp.

The above again assumes that no tyre slippage has occured on the dyno.

The dyno dynamics RR works on a default loss calc, there is no run down loss check. I enquired of JKM after everyone had gone, as I was curious to understand how they work out the losses on a DSG, which to my knowledge isn't meant to be turned at high speed in neutral.

....That's right - DSG and kickdown. Found not to be an issue but JKM wanted to be sure what was happening.  :happy2:

....Me too - I need new fronts. I check my pressures very regularly though.
