HOW much?  :stupid:

Robbing Bar stewards!!

A company trying to cash in on people wanting to try the new UHP tyre I think.

They should be very similar money to the original F1 Assymetric.

Goodyear currently have some in stock in 225/40Y18 92Y so most tyre dealers should be able to get hold of these within a few days.

I buy a pair at a time and move my rear tyres to front to make way for the new ones on the rear - Better to have deeper tread on the rear of a FWD car like the GTI.

^
Is this the done thing?  I've just bought a pair of Michelin PS3's to replace the absolutely useless Durun doughnuts currently fitted on my front wheels.  I've also got two Ronal variety Monza IIs on one side of the car and two BBS variety Monza II on the other side of the car so I'll use this opportunity to get the same variety of wheel on the same axle.  So new tyres on the back and move the used Conti SC3's to the front?  I would have stuck the new rubber on the front but it looks like I may have presumed incorrectly?  Cheers.

....For front wheel drive you should put the new rubber on the back. The rear of the car is lighter weight and grip is important. It's something which has been discussed here before and you will find that most agree, including the tyre companies.

Many thanks Robin.  I shall do this.   :happy2:

thats good advise, bought new Michelin PS3's and they were fitted to the front and it was tail happy, transfered the new Michelin PS3's to the rear and that sorted it

Has anyone tried Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 in 225/40/18 on the Golf ?

Thinking about putting a set on when I refub my alloys later in the year and would like any feedback if anyone has them fitted .

thanks

Mark
