I was contacted by the owner of this 60plate Mk6 GTi, he said that it didnt look too good under sunlight. The car had only covered 1200 miles and he has only washed it once himself, the previous wash was from the dealers.
The car on arrival....
Very little if any protection present as you can see.
Engine bay was given a wash down with Megs APC
An after picture later once dressed
The wheels still has stickers on them....
First up was the wheels and arches, arches were soaked in megs APC and worked in with various brushes. The wheels were done with Billberry a Swissvax wheel brush and EZ detail brush, small tar deposits removed alond with the stickers using AS Tardis applied to a microfibre, leaving this
The car was then power rinsed and snowfoamed using Megs shampoo plus, while this was working i went round window rubbers, badges, grilles etc with a detail brush.
The car was then rinsed, and washed 2BM with a lambwool mitt and dodo juice basics of bling which left this....
And a picture showing the effects of the 2BM....
Next up was to remove tar deposits and to clay the car. Tar removed with AS tardis and the car was clayed using Megs LT for lube and VP yellow fine clay.
The clay....
The car was then washed again 2BM method, dried using ultra plush drying towels then moved inside the garage to see what was needed. Under the halogen light was this....
As you can clearly see, the paint was riddled with light swirls and hazzing. After a few polish and pad combos, i came to the conclusion a blue 3M pad and Megs #205 was going to give the desired finish.
a few 50/50 shots....
A few more passes were made to this panel to get it as near to perfect as possible, as you can still see a RDS in one of these pictures.
Polisher working....
And the finished panel....
The rest of the car was done with the same polish and pad combo, a few shots inside the garage....
Once the car was fully polished it was re-washed to remove and polish dust etc, dried then brought back in the garage.
It was the sealed using CG jetseal 109, while this was curing the wheels were sealed with PB wheel sealant and the exhausts were polished....
Before....
After....
And the wheels sealed....
Engine bay dressed with Megs ASD....
The jetseal was removed using Eurow towels and then Victorias Concours was applied, While this was curing the glass was done with AG glass fast glass and the tryes were dressed with gloss it signature tire gloss.
The wax was the removed with Eurow towels again.
The arches were dressed with Megs ASD and skirt trims with Megs gold class trim detailer.
Next up was the interior
Before....
After....
The interior was only really bad in the drivers footwell, henry was put to work and plastics and leather were wiped down with Megs APC, then dressed with Werkstat satin Prot.
Once the interior was finished the car was given a final wipe down the Zaino Z8, leaving this....
The owner was more than happy with the result achieved, it now in the garage waiting on the better weather.
