235/35R19 in Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym's is what I run, last price was Ã‚Â£140 per tyre although tyres have seem to gone up in price recently.

Probably not anymore - the 225/40's went up from 106 to 116 last week - something split the side wall on one of the recently replaced front tyres on the mk4 - grrrr!

I'd go for 235/35/19, keeos the rolling radius the same as the stock 18, im sure if you ask Shaun he can get a set at very good prices for Goodyear Asys !

The Michelins seem to wear out very quickly .

Hey all just back home From Snow Patrol Gig in Glasgow

Just had a read through all your helpfull comments

I've spoke to my mate who works in the parts dep at Toyota and he said he'l price me some tyre's in the morning he gets them cost then 10% discount so we shall see But I will check these other website's out too!! Damn these 19'' wheels

And also I'm keeping my Pescara's for the moment use them in the winter but if I change my mind I'll let all interested party's no!

The only reasons to run 225 section tyres on a 19" wheel would be for the stretch look (Not to my taste and ruins any handling characteristics) or if you have space issues in the arch (by running a different offset or spacers).

225 section tryes will reduce your rolling diameter, but not by enough to be noticeable. The tyres will probably be more expensive with the smaller 225 section as they aren't as common a fitment as the 235 section variant.

I go for Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetrics everytime. Reasonable price, but superb grip and characteristics compared to other tyres.

i have to agree....maybe it's a driving style thing?

my last set of ps2's lasted much longer than most of the other brands i've had and i live amoungst some very twisty roads to wear them. someone in milton keynes and its roundabouts will wear a certain tyre differently than say someone from wellingborough surrounded by duals and motorways

alot of factors come into play

That is a strange statement, Dario.
It completely depends on how low your friend has it and what the wheel spec is.

Of course on your friends car that little bit extra angle on the tyre wall fixed his problem, but so would raising the coils a bit or putting a more friendly offset wheel on.

i agree, bit too much of a sweeping statement to say they will rub, i know alot of people running the 235 and are lowered without any issues fella, maybe your mate should check his setup?
