Its kind of true though, no matter the cost, i will always have a car. I can afford to put as much money as i need into it in petrol. Luckily, i dont drive mine on a daily basis. But even if i did, i could afford it if it was £2 p/l.

If that's the case, half of the British transport sector WILL be out of business. government should have finally capped the ammount of tax they gain, in order to keep britains struggling ecomany afloat.

I'm no pauper, nor can I afford to just be so unconcerned about petrol prices! I think its a bit poor if car enthusiasts can be so judgmental of other vehicle owners and there financial situation.

I aint no pauper either but i would be getting concerned if it's costing me £82.50 and upwards to fill up a tank. That's working off it costing on average 8p per litre more for V-Power.

The government need to think very carefully about this. It's alright them putting up the tax etc on fuel. But if people can't afford to buy it then they aren't going to get the revenue they expect and are going to have to look at other things to tax. Which in turn means more hardship.

Wonder how long before we have Civil war in the UK :chicken:

the gov need a HUGE rethink imho, petrol will cripple the country if they dont address it soon

petrol aside the next big issue is road tax, should be done by mile not by car, i pay £420 a year and do a fraction of the miles most people do

but no matter how we stamp our feet or how loudly, nothing will be done, we need our cars and we need fuel, the only way to realistically change it is to stop using the cars to get the message across

and in reality no one can do that

I agree with you. But if they carry on at this rate they may take the decision out of some peoples hands and force them to stop driving through being unable to afford fuel.

You can bet your life this will increase petty crime and counterfit goods as people seek a "bargain"
