« on: March 02, 2011, 08:17:27 pm »
This may look like a dumb question  :stupid:

Blow Off Valve

is this AKA

Diverter valve ?

I asked my dealer to check the Diverter valve and they said they would
they came back to me today and said yes your Blow off valve does need replacing ?

Asked my local dealer to check the DV yesterday whilst it was in for a major service and the service guy when I picked it up suggested that the 'technician' said that the DV was right down the back of the engine and a pain in the arse to check...hmmm....

Is it really that hard to find?

It's easy to check but from a dealers point of view the 20 mins to remove and re-fit is not cost worthy unless you want to pay for half an hours labour??? It would mess all their targets and all the mechanics work to a bonus scheme anyway so that's why he won't have as he would not have being allocated the extra time.
