10:35 am: And another, this one for iPhone 4 only–Personal Hotspot.
Hmm MifI from the iPhone 4?? Tel Co's aren't going to like that.
They dont like it much but Apple have no choice, my old windows mobile has been doing wifi access to HSDPA for 2 years now and Android can run 2-3 simultaneous mifi connections also using HSDPA if available, so telco's are already dealing with the extra load they just need to realise every man and there iphone will be sucking data into laptops. Hence they have all started limiting there limitless data tarrifs.
On the ipad 2 im not sure if they have made a big enough step up not just with the hardware but with the software as well my problme with ipads is your data (without using a third party application) is still tied to itunes thats just doesnt work as a concept for something like an ipad which is supposed to be a mobile office, it needs to be a stand alone computer with the ability to support flash memory and standard USB drive support for drag and drop data management something apple will never do as they will loose the control they crave.
There are also some very exciting processor technologies coming by the end of the year from Nvidia and Qualcom, so dont be suprised to find android 3.0 powered tablets with quad core processors and distinct graphic interfaces and bespoke software and games by the end of the year, and an app store that doesnt take 30% of revenues.
