Thanks for the welcome guys,
I think im sliding towards the r
the sound and the 4wd is good ill give you that, but I couldnt justify £400 a year road tax and even higher fuel bills!
You wont find an ED30 with full leathers...it was never an option.
^Damn no leathers, i will have to invest in some if i get the ed30. I think the only issue with the r is running cost, otherwise i love it in everyway.
Having had all three cars... (r32, type-r and now ED30) I would like to say the type-r doesn't compare in terms of build quality, handling or pace of the VW's... in fact I hated my type R for the couple of weeks I cared to own it...
It's a tough one between the two... I wish I never sold my R32 if that tells you something...
^Your right about the type r not having as good build quality but handling and pace it defo had. Its more of a toy
That last comment tells me a lot, thanks
i wouldnt count on .:R32 owners selling because a rise in fuel prices though, we're already penalised heavily on road tax, insurance and fuel anyway so a few pence more is a drop in the ocean
^True, but i was in a debate about rising fuel cost on the r32oc and most of them said when fuel price hits £1.50 they will be selling, i guess everyone has there own limits.
Doesn't matter how many intakes, Millteks and remaps you put on a GTI it will never sound as good as a standard R32.
^This is the comment that swung me towards the r, soooooooo true
I do like a nice fry up in Millhouses Park caff though!
^Hmmmmmmmmmmm is that a fellow sheffield being
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have driven an r32 but not an ed30, just by looking the r looks more planted, dont ask where i got that idea it just does lol
before i plunge at 1 though, i will be taking both for a test drive.
Thanks again guys, more comments welcome
