Ducting advice........
« on: March 03, 2011, 09:59:49 pm »
went to my deal to get the ducting from the front air vents to join the rear armrest.....however, when he put the VIN number in he said certain things and confussed me. Saying according to the ETKA the part I wanted was showing as already on the car.......I removed the cover around the grear link had a look and can't see anything.

Right.....I have the rear pipe in the armrest.....DO I NEED PART 10 and 6 and 5 to connect the armrest to front?

Not 100% so here goes.

6&5 look like the underseat blowers to the rear to keep passengers all toasty.

Its just the way its drawn.

You should have 6&5 already.

You will need 10 to connect the front to the rear vent.

If you have DSG its different again I believe.

Somebody else will be along soon as well so I might be wrong.

its just 10 you need (and a lot of patience)

The design is slightly different than that in the diagram as rather than going around the gear stick it only goes to the left.  My main piece of advice from my experience is first step remove the handbrake cover I damaged mine, I also used some tape to help secure the pipe at the lower dash as no matter how I pushed I just couldnt get the plastic to click into place so securing it with some tape will save you having to take it all apart again.

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.
