Connections for Branded HU
« on: March 04, 2011, 09:57:32 pm »
At the moment I have a RCD500 and midline computer and no Steering wheel controls.

So integration into all that is obsolete.

Was thinking about a RCD520 or RNS510 a everyone says the sound is alot better - but they seem very expensive over pioneers and alpines. I have the soundpack with amp so was pretty impressed already.

Question is if I bought an alpine or pioneer double din - would this just plug into the iso adaptor at te rear or are the extra connections due to the sound?

Would it be plug and ply with a 3rd party headunit?

You'll need a quadlock adapter, aerial adapter, cage and fascia surround if fitting an Alpine unit or similar.

Funnily enough I have everything needed for sale at £30  :happy2:

Dead easy to fit too.

My kenwood unit was half the price of an RNS too.

Does this then wok through my soundpack? It has the amp under the seat so would want all this to work with my amp and 10 speakers?

My ED 30 came with a Pioneer AVIC-F920BT & it's a great bit of kit. Ebay had some good deals on it & if you look on the Pioneer web site you will see they are designed for a custon fit for the VW dash.
ED35. Standard factory condition.

Just spoke to Car Audio Security and they said that they would need to make a custom adaptor so the amplifier in my soundpack will work properly.

Not happy, might just stick with the RCD500 :(
