I used to have the Forge fitted. It was a nice addition yeah. Just make sure you are buying the right part, as VW changed the design of the shifter linkage very slightly for MY2008 cars.

Also I've heard that it's better to get a weighted short shifter rather than one that isn't weighted....you may want to look into that.
