Those LED's you have pictured are the same as what I have.. I ran them for half an hour and then took them out and touched the heatsink (as I was also concerned about the heat)

They were hot but I mean, not hot enough that you couldn't hold your finger on them for 2 or 3 seconds.. I think there great, certainly good quality etc..

Waiting for a response but hopefully we should be able to get them sorted..

Jonny

what did you pay ?

what brand are they?

taken from a MK5 forum:

with the Ziza set you need to be careful how you put them in etc. Ive already gone through 3 sets of Ziza lic plate bulbs. Those bulbs run super hot. Ive melted my housing with the 2nd set, and ECS gave me another set. Hopefully these will hold out. The first set burned out in 2 weeks.. 2nd set last about a month. Even with the resistor on it, it still burns hot.

Ok.. Heres some pics (not of my car, but one of the S3 boys from Vagoc.co.uk)

Both LED's fitted..

Im hoping to confirm prices later today and we can go from there!

To try and settle your nerves on the heat debate.
I've been out for about 45 mins in the car and decided to adjust the bulbs a little to tone down the brighness and they're warm, but not blistering if that makes sense.  No hotter than taking out a bulb after it's on for 45 mins  :happy2:

I knew I recognised that S3, Jamie - Honestly! I recognised the arty-farty number plate

I'm wondering why no-one apart from myself has gone for the Hella LED Daylight Running Lights like mine.
