What's a 555? They were just advertising graphics for a brand of fags seen on the rally cars.

Find a pic and version, and remember they can be modded too.
Sideways yo!

my mate has a wr1 impreza which is about 330hp as standard.  he had a full decat exhaust and remap and manages 13 second flat 1/4 miles with 100mph termnals.  awesome starts as its all about the initial acceleration.  Id be pretty certain a stage 2+ would annihalate after driving many of them

A friend of mine had one of these back in the day, limited run of 500 4 door versions in the same blue and stickers as the '555' liveried rally car, not entirely sure of the performance mods it had as standard but it seemed to go very well, although this was back in 1997 and i had an XR2i lol!

Most of them do!  :signLOL:

I do remember his being a bit special though, it had the rally roof flap thingy and i'm pretty certain it had a little water injection button for the i/c too, remember pressing it whilst doing an overtake on Hyde Road

Googlage... 27* BHP, lower ratios, slightly more torque and some fancy bits over the normal car.

555 was an STi and had 275bhp, but that was in the mid nineties. I'd imagine a few have gone walkies by now if the car is unmodified.

The original type ra 555 which was basically a rally car for the road would make mince meat of any golf upto about 80mph past that and the golf would reel it in very slowly.

You'll notice the RA and type-R v limited from the roof vent

jap gov figures 275bhp(real world figures) 320bhp
0-60 around 4.6s
top speed - 112mph(jap speed gov)

There was a special edition colin mcrea version but it was just a spec'd up uk turbo.

They still make the RA and spec C so if you see one don't have a go, if the guy behind the wheel knows how to use it you'll not see it for dust.

By the way I'm talking standard Impreza 555 RA or type R to stage 2+ Golf ed30 the only problem with the golf is grip on take off, would be a better chance with a rolling start :happy2:

A 20 year old standard Classic with 276bhp wouldn't see which way a Stage 2+ ED30 went if they were rolling. 0-60 would be the usual story of 4WD vs FWD..
Like someone already said, if it's standard, there's a good chance that someone left the stable door open and a few of it's horses will have bolted. If moddified, then depends on what mods..
Unless it's 350bhp+, I would fancy the Ed30 to take it from a roll, even more so if DSG  :pomppomp:
