Turini Centre caps
« on: February 24, 2011, 08:29:49 pm »
I'm very keen to find some VW centre caps that will fit my Turinis.

I've tried 3 different sets now. Bought some 55mm ones which I knew would be a little loose and sure enough, these didn't seat properly. I bought some VW stickers to put on the Speedline centre caps and they look sh¡t. I tried my original OEM Monza caps and unfortunately they're about 3/4mm too big to seat properly in the Turini recess.

Having measured the original ones, they're such an odd and niche size. The rear clip seat is precisely 54mm and the caps themselves are 59mm from what I can make out (!?).

It's a very niche combination of dimensions - what would you do for some quality OEM VW look centres?
I'm not even confident some eBay 60mm caps will fit with the size difference.

Does someone like VC (Very Cherry) make OEM look caps to custom dimensions?

Thanks.
Pete

Speedline stick ons are 56mm, so the 55mm ones of these are the closest.

It just means that you can't sell them with the original Speedline caps, but I'm going to keep mine for when I get the A3 which they'll fit so it's no drama to me.

They're solid and survived a blast with the pressure washer. They also look good so I'd recommend them over any other eBay copies I saw.
:signLOL: @ your K9. TBH the eBay ones came with loads of small dents in, cheap manufacturing or not treated with TLC before dispatch?
