Fitting Cat Back Milltek - Advice
« on: March 09, 2011, 08:27:54 pm »
I have bought a cat back off someone on here (non res). I am really pleased with it . I can't wait to fit it but I need to know if I am missing any bits to get it to fit to my OEM system?

Are there any clips/reducers missing that I am going to need? If so do you know where I can get them from?

Looks to me like it should fit ok without any problems, garage will probably stick a D shaped clamp on to hold them all in place.
Enjoy the noise!  :wink:

I'd order some high quality clamps like this:  :happy2:

Maybe you need a reducer to fit the stock downpipe.
The Milltek catback will be the diameter of the Milltek downpipe.

Just examples. Check the sizes by your self !!

.............as above,looks to me like the reducer clamp is missing(bit needed to fit milltek to the standard cat piece. Contact milltek & they will sell you one,not expensive. :wink:
ED35. Standard factory condition.

The outer diameter at the end of the sock downpipe/cat is 60 mm.
Just check the inner diameter of the Milltek. If there's tube insert
with 60.5 - 61 mm everything is fine and you just need a some
exhaust mounting paste (eg Holts).

Thanks all for the replies! :notworthy:

There was some daylight left when I got home today so jacked up the car, put it on axle stands and had a look. After measuring the internal diameter of the miltek approx 69mm I definatley need 1 clip and 1 reducer of some sort. I am not sure of the dimensions but I guess they are standard. If I can't use the original clip then I guess I will need two clips and a reducer :rolleye:

@PDT I have sent you a PM :happy2:
