Looking to join the club......

Hello All!

I've been reading the forum for a while as I have started to look for a Mk5 GTi after many months of longing..... Before I take the plunge, I'll be looking for some advice because I want to make sure I pick the right one.

I live in Glasgow and currently drive a Honda Civic 1.6 Sport (anyone want one?!) which is a good car and bulletproof but just not got the poke I am looking for.

i can tell you that white ones are the fastest

Well it's general advice re. what to look for at a certain age, price I should expect to pay, potential longer term 'issues' etc.

At the weekend I am going to view a black 3 door, 54 plate, 58k miles. It looks immaculate on pictures but seems a bit pricey at £9k. Is a major service due at 60k?

Also, I am likely to be paying it up over 3 years so is this a big risk for a 2005 car?

I am probably better posting these questions in the general area......

Black, white, they don't stay that colour for long. Just look at Nath's, it got so dirty that the shine just slid off leaving a mucky residue behind!
