Android Touch Tablets ?
« on: March 17, 2011, 11:39:43 am »
Rather than cart about my laptop I was thinking of getting one of these 8 inch Android Touch Tablet - 16GB
as they are relatively cheap. I am interested in the Ipad as its only going to be used for processing orders, payments general email stuff. so having the ipad would just be a luxury one and as its in the unit i am not fussed if it gets marked etc. Anyone bought one of these from maplin or the like or would i be better of with a cheap notebook
also want to run a mobile broadband dongle of either one i choose. :happy2:

ok so your post is a little confusing to read...

Android isnt the ipad.

Android is the OS run on the galaxy tab or the Xoom.

Ipad runs the Apple OS.

all have the option for 3G via a simcard placed in the unit, you cant plug a mobile broadband dongle into any of them.

Personally id get a netbook, but only you can answer which one will suit your needs better, at the end of the day a tablet is limited and cant do more than just being a tablet where as a netbook is just a pc with a small screen.

processing orders and payments and portable, netbook / laptop would be your best option imho

better equipped to run external software and hardware peripherals too
