MFD2 and ipod

I am sure this has come up lots of times but is there anything i can get eg parrot, dension etc to work with my MFD2

i have the cd changer and dont want to lose it, but want control and decent sound out of ipod/iphone, track names would be good

Itll be an AUX IN into the MFD2 if you dont want to lose the changer.

Thats what youll need, but in any case, if you keep the changer and dont go for the proper iPod kit, control stays on the ipod

The other option is one of the newer Parrot MK handsfrees as you can connect an iPod directly to these.

i have that lead for my ipod to mfd2 and the sound is nt good

loads of noise, and volume not the best..

i still use it thou, keep the ipod in the little cubby under headlight switch..

charges ipod and iphone..

Check the ground you have used as this will be why you get interference

Ground it to the back of the unit instead on the grounding post. If that doesnt work, it might be worth putting a switch inline so you can choose when it charges.

Yes mate. There should be a threaded stud on it that you can attach it to.

The sound quality shouldnt be bad as long as the wires are pinned correctly on the socket that goes into the back of the MFD2. It could be a similar problem to the CD Changer earth when you swap to an RNS510

when you say put a switch inline to select when to charge is that a breaker on the power to switch on and off?

Inline with the +12V on the ipod yes mate, but due to the inteference, id be more inclined to put it on the earth.

thanks alexperkins, i'll try that tomorrow hopefully it'll work, do you think that will improve the sound?

when im lostening to the ipod and switch to radio the volume of sound is very different...

Thanks alexperkins... sorted the earth and the interferance is gone...

i just loosened 1 of the small hex screws on back of unit and wrapped the earth around it and thightened..

sound is much better :happy2:
