Check engine light disabled.. Illegal tampering?? UPDATE IT WAS TAMPERED PAGE 2

Yeah the LED works fine its just the tissue over it.
It was a stupid thing to do because the message comes on the mfd anyway and thats what made me think it should have the light on too.
Anyway 180 pounds for the intake flap
Need another 80 pounds for the egr
Nothing major will mention it to them and see what they say

My guess is that the previous owner disabled the EGR. Blocked it of or something to that effect.
A blocked EGR shows up as Check Enginge.

It's common to tamper with the EGR as it is the spawn of satan. Disabling EGR gives you a cleaner engine, less sooth, better economy and more.
Research this yourself.

You might want to be sure why the EGR is in error, but I would leave EGR disabled if it was me. A good tuner should be able to make the warning not appear for EGR only.

Its not that
The egr isnt opening because the diaphram is screwed
And the intake flap was fudged too and was getting stuck

The garage that sold it to you should have confirmed it all worked before selling it shouldn't they? I would be asking them about their "PDI" actions and speaking to TS about the whole thing. Make some noise and challenge them.
