New Ed30 Owner - Edinburgh
« on: March 13, 2011, 01:53:56 am »
Hello All,

Just bought an Ed30 yesterday, DSG, 5 door, black with rear tinted windows, looks the biz and drives like a dream, I'm very impressed!

My car before this was the MkIV GTI Turbo, a nice subtle car, I might put up for sale soon...

I've just found out I need a DSG oil change, most likely get the main dealer to do this however I'm looking for a recommended garage or mechanic around the Edinburgh area that I can use to get work done on my MkIV and when required on the Ed30

Cheers

Welcome, love my Edition 30. Main dealer price for DSG oil and filter change is £169.   :scared:

Welcome :happy2: I used to live in Edin now outside in west lothian, I used to use Western In gorgie but they wouldn't touch my modded ED30 so moved to one in bathgate, theres witherspoons in sighthill who my brother uses but I am not convinced by them.

Thanks for your replies, I think your right Truckie, its the main dealer for this one.

I can think of a couple of things I'd like for the ED30, I'm new to this, how do I PM you if I can't see your email address?

Keith, never used Witherspoons myself, looking for somewhere that is more personal and involved

Cheers

Alright There!

Good to see a few GTi owners from Edinburgh in here!

A good place to try is Autohaus (http://www.autohausedinburgh.co.uk)

These are the guys I used for my polo and now for my GTi. The head mechanic is an audi master trained technitian and they are VAG Specialists. I've had all my services etc done there and also they are a REVO dealer too aswell as supplying Miltek!

Don't have one bad word to say about these guys, really nice guys who wont rip you off!

Yes Loanhead and as it works out, not very far from my work

I've used Western a few times in the past but was put off last time where they quoted me ~£700 to sort a hesitation problem and it turned out they were totally off the mark , the problem was the air mass flow meter and cost considerably less

Hi and welcome.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
