Splitting rear lights?
«
on:
March 14, 2011, 08:32:26 pm »
Good evening guys and girls
Hoping someone can help me with my rear lights, my drivers side one has moisture in which I would like to get rid of, is there any way to split the rear light cluster to clear the water away?
Thanks
Richard

There is no need to split them, just take them off by turning the two twist connectors in the boot. If you pull back the carpet you will see what I am on about.

There is a way of splitting them but i'm not quite sure how.
I know Maxitrol (Andy) has done his to make it look like 2 fog lights rather than the clear reverse lense in the centre, maybe try PM'ing him or he might even see this thread and help out

I've already taken the rear light out and it's in my airing cupboard with some silicon packs but the moisture is on the lens part which seems to be sealed from the rear of the cluster

You could always put them in the oven
I have heard of people doing this to split the lens but they are in for seconds on a lower heat.
