there probably is a guide somewhere, but if you can get the car up on a good high set of axle stands it can be done DIY.
First as above get the car up, you will get better access if the entire front is jacked up. Go under the car from the front an remove the engine tray, iirc the GTi is smaller than the vRS, I think I found 6 torx screws.
Once off you can see the DV bolted to the turbo, from here you need to carefully remove the plug connector from the DV, then 3 screws, one of which at the top can be a bit ackward, a long reach socket set is required.
And bingo, then refit in reverse.
I got as far the plug which I broke removing so I stopped there, and ended up getting it done with the timing, (didn't actually get charged).
Iwould drop vRSCarl a PM as he has done a DV relocation so will be able to give accurate advice!
