Absolutely....that's what I did when I sold my Edition 30....ran out of funds tp finnish it off (It needed another 5-6K!!)

Was there today running my white 2 litre 16v with my mate in his white  A plater MK2 (He's Ex Tim Stiles when back in the good old days) Both have same spec cars.
Cheap as chips to run on track in comparison with MKIV/5 's...been there bought the t shirt!!

Great day in the pm....loads of track time too. Can't wait till October.

Msportman, I think you two were in front of me when I had the photographer in the car, not sure if it was my driving or him watching you two do battle that made him puke  :signLOL:

Good to see you all. Morning was a bit scary but got better and better, got some GoPro footage I'll put up tomorrow  :happy2:

It was a good day despite the RAIN ! bit shy of me but I'll try and look for some of you next time for a chat. Spent plenty of time watching StevePs car going round. That suspension is absolutely what you need for track work. @ steve , it must give you so much confidence. Planted.

The yellow cupra r ! Apparently GT28 RS. Really quick.

^^^ Thanks Chris, it does give you more confidence and a lot more enjoyment. Given some proper sticky tyres I think the setup will be just about perfect for me  :pomppomp: :pomppomp:

Next time make sure you pop over and say hello  :happy2:

Mk3 Golf Lee like JKM. Cheap as chips.

Im thinking more mk2 16V

I'm thinking something old but 4WD and Booooost! Might just start a saving plan and put it all together next year. A Set of VWR 6 pots will buy the car so y not!! Strip it add some handling bits and should be good to go!

I had a great day there too, thanks to all involved.

The turnout was surprisingly good in the afternoon given the weather so that was nice to see and as it brightened up a fair few stayed right till the end.

I had a few laps out in the JKM Octy with Nick piloting and in the Milltek R, I'm sure the driver plays a huge part in the proceedings (and Nick is excellent) but the Octy just blew away the Golf at every opportunity which given the Golf's mechanical advantage and the conditions was a little surprising.

Gutted i missed this, but 3 and a half hrs is a long trek just for a cple of dry hrs in the afternoon and a lot of money on fuel etc.. Plus I really wanted my seats and harnesses which I am now getting Tuesday Wednesday next week, so will hopefully get them sorted then next week depending when I can get time and kev can fit me in to fit them. Were you running any decent tyres in the wet Steve or nothing special? Neil were you on the R1Rs and if so how did they fair?

Spooky! I'm thinking along these lines at the moment after pricing up my mod list required to properly track the '30....

Exactly. It makes sense and just use the '30 for Ring/Euro trips.  :happy2:

GoPro Footage  :happy2:

Geordie, I had my spare wheels with 888's and could have used them on the last few session but kept the R1R's on, definitely didnt feel the same grip when hot but OK in the wet, although set up is a bit hard for wet track.   :happy2:

Oh it's was you behind in your Edition 30....nice car...loved my Edition but couldn't bring myself to rag it around like the MK2....that's why I went back to a 16V for track use and the additional 5-6k investment needed for track.
Went on a couple of trackdays in the Edition running APR spec engine Clubsports and inters but it needed a lot more  ie clutch BIG brakes, Diff, Intercooler etc to get into the MK2 times.....at least the MK2 is alot cheaper for this work but the Edition 30 was great on road and track but needed alot more to put that 330+ hp down on the tarmac.

The TSR built yellow Cupra was mighty though.

Stunning! Congrats for your laps! I never thought one hand driving is competitive but you proved me wrong... You have my admiration!
All the best!
