Will an 8.5 x 19 wheel on an offset of ET50 rub the inside or outside of the arch if it's lowered?
(will be on 225/35/19 tyres).
I've given you the answer in the other thread:
8.5" and ET50 will be no problem with OEM or most sport suspensions.
Only the big Bilstein struts on front with it's larger diameter may cause a problem,
but it's best to have a try and look.
Some companies like MTM and Abt offer wheels with same size für Golf and A3.
Have a look on their websites if you like.
I guess it will fit even with Bilstein.
The best fitment is imo an offset between 45 and 50. No problems to expect with
8.0" wide wheels and 225 mm tyres. Just the upper screw has to be removed.
In most cases even 8.5" will be no problem.
235 mm tyres may cause some trouble with ET45, so I'd recommend an offset of
48 - 50 for them. Every mm counts with wider tyres!!
8.0x19 ET
45 + 225/35 R19:
I think there's no need for additional spacers.
I just had to removed the screw in the wheel arch. But there's not much space.
I promise with ET40 it will rub when cornering fast.
Be aware that the suspension has some flexing and the wheels may come a bit
outwards on the top (inwards on underside).
