Time to do the brakes.

How do?

Right, I've got a few questions that I'd like clarity on and a generally some opinions. Basically the OEM set up that I have not fitted is slowly coming to the end of its life. At 34K there's very little in the way of bite and stopping power has subsequently been declining for the past few K and while I've got a bit of spare cash in my pocked before going to stage one in the summer I'd ideally like to get a new set of pads, disks fitted while also replacing the hoses with HEL's (Which I already have in the boot) and a fresh dose of fluid.

No I'm sure all of you have heard it before, but I'm ideally wanting to keep the 312mm set up. With this in mind, would I be right in assuming that it'd be best sticking with OE disks (front & rear)? Then teaming the fronts up with a decent set of pads (Ferodo?) and the rears with OE pads?

If I'm right in my research, which pads would one recommend? I'm primarily intending on using the car on roads and generally enjoyment, don't really fancy stuffing it on a track through my own stupidity. As I said I'm intending on going stage one so I'd ideally like to make sure that the system is going to be adequate enough.

If anyone could advise me on the best combinations, sets ups etc I'd be very much appreciated.

Luke.
If you have to ask why, you'll never understand.
