Good friend has one, they're quite light so not as bad on fuel as some 1.8Ts but still don't have the fancy skilz of FSI when you're tootling around.

Car handles fantastically, is awesome on its 312s with uprated pads/fluid and holds its money very well.

All he's done is change the Haldex for a race controller and battered it for the past couple of years, hundred or so of Ring laps and a good few track days, it's still going strong. Great car.  :happy2:

Oh, ensure it has the buckets - the no cost option standard seats are absolute gash, you spend every corner fighting to keep out of the door pocket or stop the handbrake going up your ass.

I work as a car salesman by trade and wasnt aware of these until we had one in the other day which i sold.

was a very nice car to drive, boosts much harder than even a 225 TT, and the interior really sets it apart aswell! the only thing to watch is for corrosion on the roof as this is a popular recall and recurring problem, they do some nice colour combinations too, some alot rarer than others! overall i was impressed though  :happy2:

Word on the street is they played down the power so not to pinch sales off the V6 - usual marketing crap. They go like a stabbed rat.

Talking of which, they are an oddball car. They have a V6 shell, not a 1.8T one. So it has the battery in the boot and few other things different, plus it is a lot stiffer... without the V6 boat anchor up front, the weight distribution is far better than the 1.8T cars.
Sideways yo!

Im almost certain these things didn't come in a 240bhp form as standard? The 225bhp KO4 equipped one was the highest out the factory. Sister had one but has since sold, lovely little car. MPG wise she was getting 24-26 but that was town and city driving only.

Even if your talking about an early MK2 TT the 2.0T that came in it is the same engine we have at 200bhp.

They're quite rare and you wouldn't really notice one unless you looked. They have a black roof, different wheels and an interior of win.

No back seats either and are a fair bit lighter than a 225.  Notice the cross brace to anchor your race harness on.
