Glass cleaner - Stupid question......probably!
« on: March 02, 2009, 06:28:54 pm »
Hi, Which glass cleaner do you guys recommend?

Noticed several light scratches on the front windscreen and wondered if there was any way to remove.

Presently use a meguiars NXT glass cleaner.

Cheers :

I had some light scratches on my last car, I used toothpaste  mildly abrasive and minty fresh

for cleaning the glass I use autoglym....but that's purely as i've yet to find anything decent

To remove (deep) scratches properly you'll need jeweller's rouge to reduce the defect.

Otherwise to clean windows, I spray all the windows (and lights) with AG Fast Glass (spray one window and move on to the next), return to the first window and wipe them clean with MF cloth. Then use AG Glass Cleaner (sparingly) - apply with a clean MF and use another to buff off.

Beautiful finish.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
