Sat nav - ipod connection help!! pics included

Hi just bought a 06 plate gti it has factory sat nav and 6 cd changer in the arm rest also included is a vw ipod lead the lead was fitted by the 1st owner then the guy i bought it from had the cd changer conected insted of the ipod lead

my question is how and where does the ipod lead connect to ??? be good to know all about it before i start stripping everything out

I guess there is an interface in there somewhere, needle and haystack time 

Might have to remove the HU and follow the trail.

That lead plugs into a black box which will be behind the stereo somewhere. As Stu says, you'll need to remove the stereo and have a look round

thats the one i think of course i only have the operating manual not the fitting guide lol but im sure thats the one my local dealer told me its probably part number 1K0051444A thanks guys il start stripping the hu out and the hunt tomorrow

Mines behind the headunit.......sat behind and below......then plugs into the HU
