Dash Lights - After Battery Unplugged

Girlfriends mk5 has a few dash lights on after her battery had been unplugged and powersteering is heavy?

Any ideas how to fix it?

Its the steering angle sensor, it needs calibrating

If this doesn't work then you'll need VCDS to perform basic settings  :happy2:

She lost all electrics nearly had major crash all power went no car won't start just beeps?

Often a short drive will fix the dash lights.

If not then it's the basic settings debacle.

Any more info on the total loss of power?

Short drive removed all the lights bar the battery light.

Next thing you know just about to go around a round-a-bout and lost everything, all power to the car and the steering lock came on, it wasn't fun at all. The mrs was driving (as it is her car 1.4 GTi rep) she was pretty scared.

Anyway got it recovered as whenever you turned the car over it just beeped and wouldn't start.

Got it home and set about diagnosing the problem. I had in my head for some reason the alternator. So checked it all over all looked fine checked the fuse and it had popped. Changed it and Bob's you Mum's Uncle all is back to normal now!
