Thinking about a DSG remap..
« on: March 26, 2011, 07:10:20 pm »
I got my Edition 30 and APR remap last year and I'm really happy with it. The only thing that is bugging me is that during changing gear from third to fourth it rarely has to dial back the power as the clutch doesn't fully engage quick enough - must be a protection mechanism for the DSG 'box I would emagine?

My question being is would a DSG remap, by revo for instance, sort this problem out? What other benifits does the DSG remap bring as it seems farely expensive for what it is?

If there is another post that answers these questions then please link.

Thanks.

I have had the dsg stg2 on my ed30 since day 1 and recently flashed to stock dsg map as I was selling the car, it wasnt until then I realised how good the dsg map is. Car feels a lot more controllable, paddles are better to use as you know the car wont shift unless you tell it to, shift points are better in both s and d and shift points are higher allowing more use of higher rpm's

I should know this but I dont off hand, if the 30 day no quibble money back warranty is valid for DSG software, give it a try!

Not worked at all with the new gen 7 speed dsg so cant comment but shift points can be altered to cure this on most automatic / semi automatic ecu systems so cant see why not.

Drove a boccanegra last week and I thought the same btw.

Thanks for that PDT!

One last question if I may. I've just looked and noticed that there is a Stage 1 and 2 DSG software, I'm assuming that the Stage 1 software will be adiquate for that? My car is and Ed30 with APR stage one engine remap, the only other modification, so far ;), is a Evoms CAI.

Cheers.
