RCD300 upgrade
« on: March 29, 2011, 10:57:22 am »
Hi guys, please tell me if I posted at the wrong place. Do I need a new CAN BUS gateway if I upgrade a non-mp3 RCD300 to a RCD300 mp3 one? or is there any other ones that I can upgrade to without changing the CAN BUS? as I know me and car electrics will end up with a big red FAIL!!!!

Can Gateway only needs changing when moving to a 310 or 510 (RCD and RNS).

No battery drain with the RCD300 MP3...

The Mp3 unit has MP3 above the CD slot from what I remember (or is that he RCD500)....easy to spot.  :happy2:

Yet another question now guys, I still haven't found a rcd300 mp3 at a decent price yet (I'm a bit skint after paying for the car itself a few weeks ago!)

I've burnt an audio CD and plays fine in the RCD300 however at the end of the last track, it just goes into a crazy mode and cannot seem to loop back to track 1, did I just simply burnt the CD wrong or is there some kind of trick to it?

Any suggestions guys? Many thanks!!

Not that long, 3 or 4 mins? It was a Rihanna song, I just put a load of songs from the missus's laptop onto the disc.

once the song finished playing, the track numbers then flickers between 20 (the last track) to numbers in the 30's, and this just goes on and on... until I turn to knob on the right to skip to track 1. Thanks

Could be a corrupt burn

Try a different last track and burn slower

Always burn discs using good quality media and the slowest burn speed.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
