I used a wire brush attachement on an angle grinder (remember to wear goggles as bits go everywhere), a normal wire brush and a metal file for the fiddly bits. Cleaned them up, sprayed with brake cleaner then painted and tehy look great  :happy2:

I just did mine the other day.  Cleaned them down with a wire brush and gave them a good de-grease!  Paint I used howevver was halfords own engine paint (red obviously).  Stuff realy did the trick.  Too a long time to dry and it looks great.  Gave it 3 coats mind you just to make sure all is sealed.

Put this on my old Leon Cupra TDI and it lasted forever and stayed shining.  Only £6 a tin aswell.

Thanks

Kevin

My last car was notorious for getting very hot brakes (S2000) after several attempts at painting them
the best stuff I found was e-tech caliper paint (available from loads of places and eBay). Wire brushed them
back then de-greased and painted with a brush and that never ever burnt off!
